Glowingly, our compassionate president spoke about how going back one hundred-fifty years or so, America mistreated the Indians and had slavery in some areas.  Compared to America’s past, how bad could current persecution and intolerance really be in areas of the Muslim world?  Does it really matter that women are viewed as cursed by God and must either submit to men or get beaten and raped?  Is rabid religious persecution in the Muslim world really important?  Is America really that different than barbaric Third World cultures and do we have a right to point fingers?  We’re just as socially flawed as you, so don’t hate us.
